Bad framerate in System 24 games.

So System 24 games used to run flawlessly in my computer, but since a few releases ago, now I get pretty strong framerate drops in games like Crackdown or Bonanza Bros. (I'm using 0.141u2 at the moment).
It's strange because CPS-3 games which are much more demanding run with no problems.
My specs:
CPU Intel Core2 D E6700 2.7Ghz | Motherboard Intel Core2 ASUS P5B SK775 DDR2 PCX | 2 GB RAM DDR2 | GeForce 9800 GTX + | 320 GB Hard Drive Space | Windows XP Pro SP
PD: I think I've noticed some other frame drops with Sexy Parodius, but no so notorious.

Another possible problem (i have not checked it in detail) is that Bonanza Bros is missing the PCM sounds in MAME, at least in some old version of MAME i used a while ago (i am not up to date with MAME releases :-)
