Among other things it's the first emulator to use sample hacks to run the Toaplan games that don't have dumped MCU data with music and sounds.

Ghox, Vimana and Same!Same!Same/Fire Shark are the only games left without dumped MCU data if memory serves me right, but it still has the separate driver slot to run games like Batsugun with external samples if desired.

Maybe you have to look at MAMEUIFX too for hacked samples support for Toaplan games...

I knew of MAMEUIFX's support for it but I was under the impression ThunderMAME did it first and you added support after, correct me if it's the other way around.

ShmupMAME v4.2 also supports the Toaplan sample hacks, and that code modification I added in from ThunderMAME.

Correct statement, I ported from ThunderMAME to current source code (a lot of work, I have to say...).
I was not talking about first, second or third, I don't care about who implemented the code in the first place (who probably was that ShitPong who offended me a lot of times here and that passed the source code to Unzu) but at the moment FX is the *only* updated build that offers that hacked feature. ThunderMAME is at 0.106 core I believe and ShmupMAME looks like is abandoned.

Ah, I see. I get the impression there's been a bit of drama (or at least a few drama queens) concerning this MAME variant before?

As for updated builds, MAME Plus Ashbuild also has sample hacks for the toaplan games and unlike ThunderMAME it is updated to 0.159. I mention this alternative because personally I prefer MAME Plus's custom button mechanisms over UIFX's systems for autofire, but YMMV.

ThunderMAME32UI+ used to be updated more frequently (its at 0.155 unlike his other variants) but the guy doesn't update all the time. I guess he's part of the party that believes new MAME isn't necessarily best MAME along with Nimitz and a few of the shumpsfarm members that used to run their own MAME builds. Nimitz's about as active on shumpsfarm as a rock anyway so I'd call Shmupmame "on ice" rather than abandoned for the time being.

That's really odd. There was a 0.153-based release of ThunderMAME32UI+ last October, then they went and made a 0.106-based release of ThunderMAME32+ this month.

Whoops, my bad. What's the 0.155よりグラディウスのデチューン調整と雷電II/DXの描画改良を適用。いくつかのクローンを追加。 line underneath about then? :S

For some reason the guy seems to treat his builds differently. ThunderMAME32+ and ThunderMAME32UI+ are treated and updated separately. The most recent one is definitely UI+ but as Big Karnak corrected me (and I checked after actually downloading it to be sure) it's running 0.153.
