Problem with hbmame config
#364507 - 03/20/17 10:49 PM

I have no idea why, but HBMAME seems to always use the same default config file when I run it with Emuloader, and all changes I make to the config have no effect. Any help?

Emu Loader has no control over HBMAME config. if you have hbmame.ini setup correctly in your HBMAME directory, it will work.

The frontend only calls hbmame.exe gamename to run games. Custom configs must be set the the user.

o.O Then why is a hbmame.ini file created in the HBMAME dir when I point Emuloader to the executable? I can even see the command window briefly opening to create the file. Also, when I make changes to HBMAME's default config through Emuloader, hbmame.ini is altered accordingly, I've checked.

As for setting a custom config myself, I've tried that and it had no effect.

Anyway, after testing HBMAME without Emuloader I found that HBMAME is the problem. It doesn't have the same behavior as MAME, and instead of creating and using the hbmame.ini file in the same dir as the executable, it goes to the "ini" subdir, which is odd O.o Once I placed my hbmame.ini in the "ini" folder Emuloader worked fine with my config, it detects that it is located in the "ini" dir and I can modify it through Emuloader.
