I think that this game was Asia only and it was MO which stands for Multiplayer Online (not to be confused with Massively Multiplayer Online or MMO).
Q : Was Jaxis been available in arcades ? (because I expect here in NEWS section to read about dumping arcade only games)

I tend to stick to arcade but mame expanded to include what used to be mess so anything mame news is mameworld news eligible.

Not to my knowledge

Why?

I have to admit, it's quite an unusual thing to post about, and probably isn't in the realm of anything that can be emulated right now, but I guess as a potentially rare / uncommon title from 16 years ago for which no CD images were previously available it might be of interest to some people here and if dumped will end up in the MAME Software Lists so it's ontopic for the project & forum and plenty of other articles not related to arcade material have been posted.

MAME officially stopped being an arcade only emulator 3 years ago now, unofficially, longer than that.

I post whatever games the DU dumps because it's cool and preserving games. It's expanding past arcade for some members. Simple.

Right, and that's good to see.

I can't remember when I last saw a post about non arcade dumps here ?!
Maybe those old handhelds (Tiger or something) ?
That's why.
Of course I am aware of merging MAME & MESS and posting about "MESS side" of MAME is OK now.

What is the criteria for PC games when it comes to acceptability for MAME? Is there even such criteria?

I'd say there wasn't much point in focusing on anything newer than Win9x stuff at most for now, preferably stuff than runs on low-end Pentiums. There's a LOT of that to document, especially properly if we're talking floppy images and such, and it's about the grade MAME is capable of handling right now.

Non-English software should probably be a priority too since much of it isn't well documented (Japanese stuff etc.) and obviously it makes sense to include especially rare / uncommon material regardless.

It's not the same game, this one is called Axis Arena and it was never released. (should be around 2005, but it was canned)
However they released a demo of the game around 2003, after all it could be the same Korean game from 2002, only translated in English with some minor changes ?!

Well there have been posts about 'messinfo', posts about the 'taito / namco nostalgia' plug and plays, posts about my WIP on some of the plug and play systems, posts about computer learning on Atari 2600 frogger...

and I imagine sooner rather than later the arcade/MESS distinction will end up being dropped entirely at source level too; it seems most people needing subsets of MAME for any reason are just doing the individual driver compiles which for the most part are much easier and more logical with the current build system.

Looks like it's running on the Quake 3 Arena engine.
