NVidia 4 Signal Issue
02/06/11 04:42 AM

Hi, I bought a N-Vidia GeForce 4 card off of eBay, well, my parent did, but anyway. I bought it since it had direct Composite out and was cheap at the time. My Server's CPU died for some unknown reason, making the whole board boot for less then a second before dying like something shortcuircuted. Anyway the card was fine inside a case and has been for sometime. However when using it in my P2 Atlanta board, the signal sometimes becomes jittery unless the card gets grounded directly to the Power Supply's case. So to prevent the issue continuing I stuck a wire between the two, however the jiterred image reappears whenever the resolution changes, stopping when the card is ungrounded from the PSU's case. So I left it alone and it went along fine before 10 minutes in it returned...

So I put my finger on the card's bracket and the PSU's case temporarily (knowing that human skin is slightly conductive) and tapping the two lightly makes it dissapear, but sometimes it returns for aslong as the card is on and sometimes a quick tap and it's gone.

Any clues and/or suggestions? Atlanta is uncased BTW.
