So what you are saying is that there is a fourth board on the Indian Battle stack that plays the background music only?

Marcello is going crazy trying to get his 8080 boardsets (he has six (!) three non working) to play the plane dive sound effect in Galactica.

I get the impression that he has a bunch of 8080 game ROMs and can swap games at will. If I'm understanding him correctly, some boards need wire jumpers and other small modifications in order to run some of the games.

Cool. Have any photos of it or a schematic? I'm sure Marcello would like to get his hands on this. I think he's crazy/MacGyver enough to build one himself if he can't find one for sale.

I understand, but..if the code to play sounds is there and the games are interchangeable across 8080 boards then surely someone had a Galactica with that extra sound PCB running in an arcade at some point..? Maybe (pushing my luck here, glad you're not RB) you would consider making it a separate "device" and adding it as selectable through the driver options in the TAB menu?

I'll ask him if any of his boards have that port. Which PCB is it on?

No, he doesn't mention that board - Marcello found out about the plane dive sound effect when running the Galactica ROMs on the Indian Battle driver. None of his boardsets play the plane dive sound effect. What if his board has that add-on port, like Polaris? Would that be proof enough?

Though I guess that determining if any of his 8080 board sets were actually born as a Galactica could be a problem lol

Marcello is willing to help with component values, measurements and stuff like that if you need anything. He certainly has the equipment. Let me know if you want to ask him something, I'll translate.
There's a great photo of one of his 8080 sound PCBs further down in the thread somewhere where you can clearly read all resistor values.
Can you tell by looking if that's the PCB you are talking about, or just the regular 8080 stack sound PCB?
