I have neither and fu-cking love it. Why? It goes back to when I was a kid. My brother and I shared a room till I was about eight. We got along well enough, but had different quarters-keeping preferences/inclinations. When we got our own rooms, it was so awesome.
Now as then: I love my place, my way, all the time. Others can visit, I can visit others, either of us might stay the night....but we's each got ours owwn hoomes.
As for kids: while I like them, I've simply never had the urge, inclination, nor desire for them. At least part of it is that I am child-like, so I'd rather play with them than parent them (though I've parented and am quite competent).
(Can you tell I have no pets, either? Or plants!)
Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.
