Using child molestation as a pretext for shoving your fundamentalist religious morals down the throats of insecure teenagers is about as low as you can sink in my eyes. These people stand lower than earthworms in terms of human value to me.

So, according to this person, child molesters are better than religious fundamentalists?

Also, I'm under the impression that this person is okay with teenagers having sex... I know some will still (no pun intended here) "do-it" but if a society gave young people a free ticket to do so - you would get an increase in population, or an increase in infanticide/abortions. Kids aren't responsible enough to have to take care of babies, and the psychological damage they can endure if they decide to have an abortion. And those 2 things are just at the base of the potential problems that can arise from promiscuity.

As for the legalization of (the possession of?) child pornography... Given the example that person gave... (witnessing and recording the crime counts you as being in possession of - which makes you guilty under the law).... That's too far fetched of a scenario, and no one in their right mind would see the witness as a perpetrator. If a person comes across such an incident and can remember it in their mind - shouldn't the very memory of said incident be considered as being in possession of content?

...So what this is saying that pedophiles shouldn't be prosecuted for possession of....

To me this is just opening the door to far worse things. Any content with prepubescent children is considered pornography for pedophiles. If they're post(?)pubescent (sorry) then (they're implying) it should be legal because that's what's natural for kids/teenagers...?

If everything we wanted to do was just called "natural" and should be allowed... What about when we feel angry enough to kill another person, or angry/depressed enough to want to kill ourselves? I could say 'beat up' another person, or cuss them out... But there's no point in drawing a line. If you cross one there's no reason you can't cross another.

Finally, what's wrong with teaching young people morals and to respect themselves and others? Letting them know there are consequences to actions and somethings are better left to when you're responsible enough to handle said consequences?

I don't have a very high opinion of the person that wrote that article.

Our current laws treat the video of a seven-year-old being brutally raped, on one hand, and two seventeen-year-olds who have eyes for nothing in the world but each other making consensual passionate love, on the other hand, as the exact same thing. This is mind-bogglingly odd.

The former is one of the most horrifying things you can think of – trying to picture it makes you cringe in your chair. The latter is one of the most beautiful things you can possibly picture – trying to see it makes your eyes well up with tears from joy.

Yeah, I'm sure he reaches for the kleenex when he sees this kind of stuff.
