Why is that, exactly? I kind of wish I could use NVIDIA's 3d tech, but the extras cost too much for it. Simply not worth the price.
Is it the Linux driver issue that turns you away from them? That would be more than enough reason for me, but I don't use Linux for much when I actually do mess around with it. Both companies have their own gimmicks and game companies that support them... The hair thing in the latest TombRaider for ATI cards, for example... I dunno. Mark for mark in performance, I tend to find ATi/AMD GPU's to be more economical and they seem to do the job just fine. You'll never see me relying on the built-in video of a modern AMD or Intel CPU though, even if I buy a new laptop.
