I don't know if a mere doubt which was not meant as a request had anything to do with some of these changes. But in any case and without ignoring the SEGA hardware improvements, that's a great progress.
The friendlier MAME/MESS is without a front-end, the more user base for testing it gets. Even those who don't know what a front-end means.
