Welcome to Vaughan's Custom Bezels! The Bezels you'll find here are free to download and use in your copy of Mame. Just click on an image below to see a larger version. If you like what you see, and want to use it in Mame, simply click on the text link beneath the images. That's it!

The collection has some good Bezels of which I'm proud, some that are merely okay, and some that, frankly, are messed up (and not in a good way). Regardless, I have waged war on black bars on our screens!

GOAL: To provide a Bezel for games that never had a Bezel when released (AKA: an authentic, or original Bezel). Bezel graphics should, whenever possible, be made from materials as close to the game as possible - for example, by using Flyer graphics created at the time of the games release, by the distributor.

Each Bezel comes in three types: Flat, Shine, and Depth. The thumbnails show the "Shine" option.

Each Zip file contains all known bezels at the time of its creation. For example, if a custom bezel already exists, then it is also included. If an authentic bezel already exists, then that is also included. You can switch between each Bezel from the in-game menu (default: Tab) and choosing VIDEO OPTIONS. Once downloaded the ZIP file must be saved to your Mame ARTWORK folder. By default this is a sub-folder off the folder in which you installed Mame. In order to work you MUST NOT rename the Zip files, they come ready to go. It goes without saying, you must also have the game ROM (not included).

Each Bezel is designed and tested primarily on, and for, a 16:9 screen. To get the full effect, the game and bezel should fill the entire screen edge-to-edge. No black bars should be visible. They are all designed for monitors in a landscape orientation.

Bezels are created ad-hoc. That means that some weeks there'll be nothing new, other weeks there'll be updates. You can check to see if anything has been added by looking at the "NEW" section at the top of this thread.
