I prefer game lag to display lag though. Trying to play Megaman games on an LCD is horrible for that reason alone, especially if you're used to the original versions on a "traditional" CRT.
I can put up with games slowing down due to being underpowered, as the whole thing slows down, not just the inputs, but taking damage or dying in a game because you pressed a button to react to the screen which was a quarter of a second or so behind the gameplay is just plain annoying. I used to take it out on the emulator(s) as input lag until I found that it did the same thing even with the NES hooked straight up to the LCD.
