those are something different altogether, unused assets, likely with no code to use them, or removed intentionally because they didn't fit the game well.
Metal Slug 2 Turbo is basically a bugfix for some god-awful code that has proved popular on original hardware because if improves on one of the major complaints players and operators had with the game.
The Strider GFX fix fixes an issue that's more obvious on emulators and modern displays than it was back in the day (stray pixels - there are quite a few games with problems like these) but really has minimal impact if using original hardware and monitor. The removal censorship being 'how the game was meant to be' is questionable because somebody at Capcom decided that it was meant to be censored. I think this one is more suitable for HBMAME in all honesty; there are a LOT of games that look ugly on modern displays.
