Did you get your CD images from Redump website ? I consider them bad rips. You can have a multi-track CD using a single ISO (.bin; .iso;...) and the .cue file listing all the tracks of it.
That's how I have all my PlayStation1 CDs. My suggestion is, you could find a website that has single ISO PSX CDs. I know of at least two sites with single image per game.
This way you could keep all PSX CDs in one folder instead of having a sub-folder for each game... and they don't need to be zipped. From my point of view, this would be cleaner and more organized. Plus, no zipped CDs. All PSX emulators can be used then...
Now, if you don't want to re-download your CDs collection or you don't have enough internet bandwidth, that's up to you.
It seems RetroArch unzip CDs before loading to the emulator but that takes like 20 seconds. Too long for my taste.
