Well, considering it was one of those unreleased prototypes that really only saw the light of day through showings at California Extreme until it was dumped and put in MAME... I really doubt most gamers know of its existence!

For a 1996 game, it was known about by rare arcade collectors since at least 1997:
Mentioned in Jim Hernandez's game list in 1999:
and shown at shows as far back as 2000:

Theories as to why it wasn't released:
Commenter "dauber" theorizes that "Vicious Circle" and other games' development was axed during the Midway/Atari Games merger for, uh, pure efficiency's sake (in the comments of the following page):

Brian McKee in the above Retrogaming Times article claimed it was "a COJAG based fighting game that could not get enough bandwidth from the hardware to be fun enough."

PS. Ironically, there's a character in the game named "Stiletta". No relation.
