Because of public outcry they were forced to put something into the new proposed law to allow for gaps or no previous coverage. It's a $2,200 fee on top of your first premium if you go more than 63 days without coverage. For most of America that isn't affordable and they just won't get covered. I'm sure most people here have seen the estimates that between 24 and 26 million people will lose coverage under this law in the next few years. Republicans are literally the fucking worst. I know there are corrupt Democrats but on a policy basis, Republican laws dealing with money help the 14% richest households and hurt the 86% bottom. How the hell they are in power is amazing and a testament to the stupidity of American people.
