although all of that could just come back down to 'TRY' being listed on that flyer..

TRY might have been the distributor? From a code / presentation point of view it has all the hallmarks of the Crux / Orca / Kyugo stuff tho, much like when Rolling Crush showed up it was obviously a Semicom game, despite the version at the time hiding all references to Semicom (except in the end credits)

what we have is probably a bootleg, as the copyright string is blanked in the rom, it's still drawn but every character has been replaced by a blank space, very likely somebody copied it when it was out for testing and ended up putting it on another PCB. I'd say we got lucky based on hardware reuse and somebody being very naughty back in the day.
