Overall it's pretty good, better than the second Lucas trilogy which was riddled with bad acting, laughably unrefined scripts, Jarjar Binks, just not that great of stories and so on. Now onto the complaints shall we.
Forest Whitaker can't act. He's never acted well in anything. Just because you can halfway close one eyelid and make a face like you're halfway ready to cry doesn't mean you can act. He can't act.
It doesn't matter what year it is or who does the work, Star Wars people can never make worlds that look as realistic as the original trilogy from the goddamn 1970s. Paintings and real earth shots from 4 decades ago still somehow beat the shit out of multi million dollar computer work by a landslide. The tropical beach with the battle looked fake. It would be acceptable for a new video game but for a Star Wars movie in 2017? It must just be infinitely more profitable to do things this way and this is considered "good enough". We were better off without this tech.
The guy who died in real life (don't know his name) where he was computerized in this and Carrie Fisher's computerization both looked FAKE, like an XBox One game cut scene. It's like a computer model that a fucking robot made without really understanding a human being's face/expressions. If you couldn't tell the difference then you're probably a fucking robot yourself. Did not look real period. That kind of tech works for recreating dinosaurs/aliens/stuff that isn't human but clearly we have not reached the tech or patience required in really faking humans on screen realistically. Fisher looked like a mix between Gollum and a fucking manga picture.
