Gorf Virtual Cabinet

Love it or hate it, Gorf was an 80's hit for sure. I give kudos to the developers of the mame driver and the efforts over the many years of dealing with the Votrax emulation. I have been using mame since the late 90's (learned about it on an AOL Private Chatroom called Warez, lol)and have over the years watched it migrate into what it is today. I recently got back into producing artwork for it and have thought about revisiting compiling my own version of mame after a long hiatus.

I used to bug John IV years ago on how to set up the directory tree structure for compiling environment and was the one who asked him to put up pictures of the folder tree for others to see how its done on his website some 15 years ago. Lol (time flys) after of which I emailed him saying hey Dragon's Lair works! As I enabled the driver, he definitely pointed out to not redistribute it and keep it a personal copy, don't know if he remembers that. Anyway...

So, my history with mame is long, however I haven't really been nothing more than a troll on the mame forums until recently. Decided to join up after trolling mameworld since 2000 and the fact I am currently working with a print company doing graphics design and we have recently started selling reproduction art for the coin-op restoration industry and have built a hand full of retro game cabinets for customers, supporting the build, designing and setting home game rooms for customers and friends.

Henceforth, my interest in the project has been reinvigorated and I spend my spare time working on my personal cabinet build and wanted to unify some of the golden oldies artwork files. So I am re-learning the layout files and really like taking what comes out of Illustrator and Photoshop and making some cool stuff for myself and emu enthusiasts on the side. So with that tangent out of the way, I am uploading a Virtual Cab for Gorf.

Lamps are fully operational, perfect layout & alignment and wanted to share. Again I appreciate the programmers who made this all possible, but I am thinking about seeing if I can use the old drivers for the Votrax games and recompile into using the old sound samples with old drivers with the latest versions of mame. IMHO, the sound samples sound a LOT better on Gorf, WOW & Q-bert - Wondering if that is feasible as I been out of the developer loop for quite some time??!!
