You may be interested in the following: 1. http://nonmame.retrogames.com/ - Shoegazer - member here - opinion on what's great in MAME and great elsewhere. In many cases he prefers RetroArch, but you can certainly see what "core" RetroArch is using and track down that emulator independently.
