I'd find the lights distracting imo. Anyway, if you have ofcuts of plexi or perspex, you can make a glowing strip and glue it in or something.

What I would do is get a peice of clear plastic and drill say 5mm holes at about 7-10cm. Glue some blue leds into them and wire up all the cathodes and the anodes to each other in parallel and attach a resistor to the anode line and hook up a 5v source. What's good is because of the way light works and the way the light travels through the plastic, it should give you a nice even glow.
