I'd be happy if it were just the areas of China/Tibet(?) (and the Floating Islands too). Temple of Xian was one of my favorite obstacle/marathon levels!
Hmm... If there's a limited amount of people working on it, I could understand if it didn't have all those levels that were in the original. That's a lot of work! I've watched a play-through of this and there isn't nearly as many traps/hazards as there are in the original.  And I understand that could all change before it's finished.
