clrmame 0.7.1 released
Updated ZipArchive lib which uses zlibNg now which gives a nice speedboost on zip operations. Additionally I rewrote the handling of wrong named machines which should sort out all kind of edge cases which were fixed recently but with cleaner and less code.

https://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/binaries/clrmame_v071.zip
https://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/binaries/readme.html

...updated to 0.7.1 fixing an ugly last minute bug which was found by johnIV....

[Posted by: Roman]

more MAME wip update *edit*
Guru’s home page https://gurudumps.otenko.com/

20th April 2026
Thanks to some good work by Kale recently, Happy Planet emulation in MAME is in a much better state and is almost playable. The MAME machine needs to be fed again (it's a VERY large and hungry beast) so I have just dumped another one of the remaining undumped medal shooting games (Galaxian Fever) using my custom QFP144 SH2 CPU dumping adapter. Here's a quick look at very early emulation in MAME (wrong colors and graphical issues) thanks to quick work by Osso.... It's time to move onto the next SH2 board in the dumping pile, there are 2 undumped SH2 chips to go.

Also looking forward to seeing the MB Grand Master Chess in action and hopefully a near working Prophet 5 synth in next release.

[Posted by: gregf]

pfeMAME version 3.4.4 has been released today
pfeMAME version 3.4.4 has been released today

This release includes builds for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

This is another large release with various bug fixes and some improvements to existing features. Hopefully the auto install works for you, but if not please download manually from sourceforge.

Check out the changelog file for the full list of changes.

You can download this release from here

Please read the manual as it has everything you need.

Please report bugs. You can email pfemame@gmail.com or use the features on the sourceforge site to create a ticket, leave a review, or chat.

pfeMAME is a front end for the Multiple Arcade Game Emulator (MAME) written in Python. It is cross platform (tested on Linux (Ubuntu), Windows, and MacOS). It also includes a graphical Tile View designed for MAME cabinets which allows control using joystick / gamepad. It supports favourite game flagging, MESS systems, Software Lists (for systems), per-rom input mapping, and launching of other emulation engines. It was written with a minimalist view in mind but also because there were some features that I wanted that other front ends just didn't provide.

[Posted by: Gfinch]
