The first way it works is to fool the system to think the game booting is 2nd Impact no matter what it is to exploit a security loophole. You need either a 2nd Impact cart with the battery removed or any other cart with the battery removed and the bios rom flashed to the 2nd Impact image. Since the system is fooled into thinking it's 2nd Impact, it also demands the 2nd Impact simm requirements, so the requirements for almost all the games has changed for the phoenix versions, at least for now (see attached chart, but keep in mind that hacked bioses may appear in the future that lower the simm requirements for some games).

After that if you want to play 2nd Impact you just burn its original cd image onto a cd-r and if you want the other games you burn Darksoft hacked isos that he releases on his blog. All the games have releases now that have gone through stages of bugtesting and revising and eventually there will be some versions that even fix crash bugs that were in the original game. If you install the simm requirements for 3rd Strike and have a phoenix cart, you will be able to play every game on the system just by swapping the cd-r. If you have a game installed already you just swap the disc and take it into service mode and chose the rewrite all option.

For your SCSI drive, if your drive has 8 modes/jumpers, the settings should be the following, though I haven't verified this:
SCSI ID: 1
Parity: On
Terminator: On
Power: On

If your drive has only 4 jumpers, you only need 1 jumper inserted for:
SCSI ID: 0

I have verified these working on a 4 jumper drive and a CPS3 board with the 3rd Strike ram requirements installed. Awesome!

Special instructions for installing 3rd Strike:
There are 2 disc images released for this game, labeled CD1 and CD2. To install the game, follow these steps:
1) Run a rewrite all with CD2. When it's done it should start 2nd Impact with corrupted graphics.
2) Power down and remove SIMM5 and put the one from SIMM6 in its place.
3) Run a rewrite all with CD1. When it's done it should show 3rd Strike with corrupted graphics.
4) Power down, place in the SIMM6 slot the SIMM(5) that you removed after 1st update.
