Umm, that shouldn't be the case, else there'd be no reason for them. Slot 1 is, like, rom. Slot 2-4 are ram, hence programmable and stay that way. Should fuckin be.
But, the Hori looks good, and satisfies your PS4 gig. And unless it's pink, who cares? (Not that I'd care much if it worked how I wanted an all....)
