I’m wondering if this “sweetspot” is still valid give the date of this post (Dec of last year). I’m in a situation where I’m looking for a desktop that can play every emulator (if that’s possible -so don’t need it to be too modern). Robbert mentioned what he uses for his Dev system which is an i7/2600 with windows 7. It’s also recommended to use a 64 bit system (according to the mame manual). I was wondering if you had any input. If my tech can’t help me with this project, then I’m just going to make a shopping list from what’s recommended here and put it together myself if I have to.
Just checking on options before I start purchasing stuff.
