1) As already stated... It wasn't the national anthem, so yes, you were the idiot here.
2) Both the National anthem AND America the Beautiful were taken from a different country (the music anyway) and if the reverse happened today, the US Government would cry copyright BS and try to sue.
I think the commercial was very tasteful. I feel honored that people would want to sing songs that honor America, in their native tongue. If they wanted to use the tune of an American Patriotic song to bad mouth America in their native language, THEN I would be pissed off.
Now, I don't dare compare my sacrifices to those who have actually been wounded in battle (the closest I've been is the Indian ocean and the western Arabian/Persian Gulf) but unrelated to actual battle I have actually bled for this country (and my avatar is the result of my most extreme example) which is more than most Americans can say.
So if you can't say the same, I would hope that you take to heart what I just said and look at it from my point of view. If it isn't meant to dishonor us, then you should feel honored, not pissed off.
