This may be a dumb question, but with a 120Hz LCD/LED monitor, do you actually set the refresh rate in Windows to 120Hz? In other words, would this avoid the sync problems with MAME when running non-60Hz games? I mostly run MAME on my CRTs, but I was playing around with HLSL on my 23" LCD and it does look pretty sweet, especially with bezel artwork filling the sides of the widescreen. If I can avoid the glitching in non-60Hz games, I could almost be convinced to drop the CRTs altogether.

My understanding is that those monitors/televisions simply double-scan the 60 Hz image. I'm not sure if video cards are capable of scanning out at 120 Hz

My Tv is 120hz and my HTPC is connected to it and I can't set higher than 75hz in windows settings...... I guess you need an 120hz video card? uhmmm.... I'm cluless about it.
My movies play in 120hz but it doesn't seems to affect videogames...
