Upgraded PC, now everything runs slower???

I recently upgraded my arcade from a 32 bit to a 64 bit machine with double speed in every area.
Now when I run Maximus arcade and MameUI64 things seem to run slower now. I was getting choppy framerate on Rayforce, RAYFORCE!! I don't understand why this is happening.

Have you installed any other software like anti-viruses? Updated and congifs or settings?

Its a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate so it's possible. I'll double check the msconfig boot up programs when I get home.

You have downloaded and installed latest chipset drivers for your MOBO?
have latest DirectX?
What's the specs of your PC?

kill all useless stuff running in background
update your video card drivers
use mame64 instead of mameui64

Download latest DirextX:

Unfortunately, Windows 7 although it includes DirectX 11, it doesn't include DirectX 9.0c. So you need to download it separately from above link.
MAME is using DirectX 9.0c

Its a AMD X6 black edition 3.5 ghz 8gigs DDR3
I'll try updating the mobo and the bios.

Maybe that's it, because on the Ps2 emulator it ran better under DX9 at 32 bit than DX10 hardware based on 64 bit.

Yea I'll get rid of the MameUI64. I originally had a fresh compiled version of Mame32 fully updated. then just got rid of it.

How silly of me. I didn't notice you said the game Rayforce in your OP and just assumed it was most games in general.
If you search MAMEtesters there is a current problem with Rayforce even with 0.144u6, which I'm seeing on my machines.

If you must play this game immediately, maybe a knowledgeable person will chime in and suggest a previous version that will run it correctly for you.

Good god that's excessive RAM for a MAME rig. What are you going to do with the remaining 7 gig?

Don't worry, when 302-in-1 lands it has 4 GB of ROMs. Not CHDs, ROMs.
And 6 GB+ is great to have for compiling.

What was your old machine? AMD CPUs are notoriously awful for MAME, and especially 3D games in MAME, so if your old system was Intel-based it's possible you ended up around the same performance in spite of flashier numbers.

The roms were 2GB each but had to be read out in 1GB chunks due to a programmer limitation. It's just like a thumb drive, you probably have one with a single flash rom inside that is 8GB or more but physically the same size as a 512KB flash rom found in a CPS3 cart from 15 years ago.

Old machine was Intel E6600 2.4 ghz I think? It was very old. This one might run mame bad, but it runs SF4 and newer games better.

Nothing, I get to tell people i have it. My entire new rig was a X-mas gift so I figured why not shove in a ton of free Ram. If i make another mame arcade I can take some out and move it around.

Yeah, for emulation purposes an E6600 is not going to perform a lot different from your new processor I'm afraid.
