Take a picture of the board and any numbers, not the tube. The tube doesn't really say much.

It's got what looks like a VGA port.

Or you could look here:

I am going to but I don't like to stab in the dark on things I know little about.

I think.... I have a 15/24 khz monitor as I found a label on the monitor saying 1997 and using your links I must have a cyberlead 1 not 2.

Thanks for help.

The images appear to show a HIGH Res Jumper. You should be able to handle at least two resolutions 31KHz and one other. I can't see from the images if the other jumper slot it's currently plugged into says "Med" or "Low" (or maybe it says "MED & LOW". So you should be able to move that jumper to HIGH and plug directly into a PC.

The monitor chassis itself does not appear to be the standard MS9-29 that the CyberLead IIs came with, appears to be slightly different. Keep prodding around for model numbers if you want to ID it.

(as for mogli's advice of "just try it"...I'm normally supportive of that kind of expirimenting, but not a great idea with monitors. At least make the attempt to ID it first.)

Hi

The other jumper says "Low".

I had a really good look for numbers etc but thats it the two pictures I took are the only numbers I could see

I guess from the jumper only saying Low that I do have a 15/24 khz monitor and not a tri-sync?

Thanks for your help

15/31 KHz (LOW/HIGH res). You don't seem to have medium res. Move the jumper to high, plug it in to a PC, change the desktop resolution to something like 640x480 or 800x600, and you should see a picture. It's possible that the monitor will handle 1024x768 as well, but tough to say for sure without model info. the Low/High res combo should help me narrow down the model if I have time later.

Hi

I did as you said and moved the connection to high. I have not got a pc to test it on yet but tried to hook up my laptop with extended desktop running and set the resolution to 640x480 and 800x600 and nothing happened. Then I tried 1024x768 and got a picture that was out of sync (lines accross screen but could make out windows desktop under it) but at least I know the monitor is working!

I did notice the picture was a little darker in the corner but know thats something to do with degaussing?

Anyway thanks for your help.

I have what appears to be the original monitor in my Capcom Impress. I've fed it resolutions it couldn't sync to, and got the same as you did. Now, maybe the monitors before the mid 90s were touchy and would fry....

I don't find the capacity for higher resolutions via a jumper or switch on the chassis useful for a MAME machine, unless you're running everything at such a low resolution, in which case why use the monitor.

Anyways, now you know.
