New Arduino based 16 x 2 Alphanumeric display for custom projects
#330597 - 08/25/14 03:39 PM Attachment: IMG_2931.jpg 513 KB (3 downloads)

I started a new kickstarter project this week for a full sized 16x2 alphanumeric display arduino shield that you can add to your custom projects (pinball or other arcade inspired coolness). It is modelled on the late 80s pinball games such as Whirlwind, Black Knight 2000 and Funhouse and is the a similar physical size. An open source library for controlling it will also be released as part of a successful campaign. It has serial in for connecting up to other systems and is i2c based

I just launched it and am looking for backers and like minded people to join in the adventure.

Thanks for reading

That's a nice project you have and is something I would have liked to use and can imagine it being used on things like MAME for Beatmania IIDX. I will see if I can pledge something for it but I can't afford even the blank board which is a shame

Hi , Thanks for the reply. Any funding help or support would be greatly received. Could you send me a picture of the game you mention. I'd love to see what potential usages my board could have and if you have any other ideas or feedback for me, then please get in touch.

I'm going to be at the uk pinball party this weekend in daventry to, so if anyone wants to see the board in the flesh i'll have it will me.

This is an image of the cabinet. Not sure why the 17-segs are on this game but they are cool. I would love to make a "mini" cab of this one day with all lights working well

edit: Just noticed these aren't so much 17-seg displays as there's only one seg for A and D
