Discs of tron joystick shield button
#379662 - 11/21/18 01:40 AM Attachment: Dot2.jpg 2715 KB (2 downloads)

Hello
I am building a control panel for discs of tron game with a ultimate Ipac control board I bought a LED fire button link below

https://www.newark.com/multicomp/r13-548...R13-548AL-05-BR - Illuminated Pushbutton Switch, R13-584 Series, SPST, Off-(On), 3 A, 250 V

and I am trying to figure out how to connect it to the control board.
It has 3 legs on it a power leg, switch ground leg, and a LED ground leg it also has a resistor built in to the LED.
My main question is would I be able to tie this with the ultimate ipac connection 2B the led would be on when not in use and blink off when the shield button is pressed I am not sure if this would be too much of a draw on the board.
Or do you know of a better button to use on the joystick with separate wires for the led and the switch.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try enabling multimouse in mame.ini.

This is how to set up Discs of Tron
1) install mame currently 204b https://www.mamedev.org/release.html

2) Go into Mame folder, open mame.ini file (type is configuration settings) Looks like this.
#
# CORE INPUT OPTIONS
#
coin_lockout 1
ctrlr
mouse 0
joystick 1
lightgun 0
multikeyboard 0
multimouse 1 Change multimouse to a 1 and click on save
steadykey 0
ui_active 0
offscreen_reload 0
joystick_map auto
joystick_deadzone 0.3
joystick_saturation 0.85
natural 0
joystick_contradictory 0
coin_impulse 0

3) Run Mame start Discs of tron , hit Tab Key to enter settings.
2a go into config options then
2b go into advanced options
2c scroll down to input options
Make sure mouse, and multi mouse are both on if you change the settings make sure you save settings before you exit.
4) go into config options again
then into General inputs, Player 1, scroll down under P1 Peddle you will see Paddle analog Paddle with a A not Peddle, select it hit esc (none) will appear this clears it then select it again and move your spinner it should be detected Mine comes up as Mouse7 x
Save settings and exit it should be working. I an using a usb spinner plugged into the PC directly
5) To set up the fire and shield buttons. They are set up on the mouse buttons coming from the joystick. They have to be turned on right under the spinner setting Paddle analog Dec and Paddle analog Inc I set them up as keyboard left and right keys through the Ultimate IO Board http://www.ultimarc.com/ipacuio.html
My shield button works but the led needs to be connected Looks like The switch will have to be replaced with a double open/closed button maybe this one https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/06969455
