Pages: 1 wrd1972 MAME Fan Reged: 06/08/15 Posts: 5 Send PM Why does my default.cfg file keep reverting back to default? #341998 - 06/29/15 05:14 AM Reply I have been noticing that my MAME default.cfg has been reverting back to the default setting which basically renders my custom controllers useless. It also messes up some of my video settings in certain games. Needless to say this is a huge PITA and time consuming to fix. It seems to follow an occasional MAME crash and maybe also some behavior of unplugging or plugging in the controllers. I am going to try to keep a copy of this file in the case that it barfs in the future. My question. Is there something I can do to keep default.cfg from reverting back to defaults? [Re: wrd1972] #342000 - 06/29/15 05:26 AM Reply I make it a point to set the file attribute to "read-only" for anything I don't want changed, but if you WANT to change the defaults, you wouldn't want this. Is the writeconfig line in your .ini file(s) set to 1? That can make a difference. ---------------------- I have officially retired from sucking at everything I do. Life is much easier now. Am I correct that these settings are stored in the .cfg files?
