Had this happen to the Test your Might Background, happened twice in a row, always on the first TYM. Apparently it occurs randomly, kinda difficult to reproduce. Not sure if its already on mametesters. Both happened with Mame 245.

It has been around for a while - first reported Feb 2008 under v0.62, last updated Dec 2008; though at that time, it filled the entire background, not just the left half.

I took some time to try & repro this & failed completely.
I tested with Mame .247 (binary downloaded from official site), 64-bit build loading mk.zip with default settings (dip switches, etc.).
I got to "Test Your Might" at least 50 times & never saw the glitch (some real playthrough, some using save states). Do you recall anything else from your session? I know this is random but it seems pretty rare based on my (limited?) tests.
