Ready for the 0.143 update of "progetto-SNAPS" There may be errors because I did a little 'of confusion while I created the package: let me know...
393 snaps plus 378 pictures and pdf, downloadable here:

Thank you for the update.
After doing a build-from scratch from the CPANEL artwork files from your website, CLRMAME came back with the following:
cpanel [folder: cpanel - size: 503mb]
missing rom: twincobru.png [size: 400136] [CRC32: 00306274]
I'm not sure if the information in the datfile is incorrect or if the file itself is incorrect. It's not missing, but CLRMAME first removed it, then declared it missing.

The "flyers" set are too huge, about 4 GB and I canīt rebuild it coz file size limitations on windows.
How I do to make a .zip set of it using ClrMAME?
If I do a .zip set so ClrMAME tell me if the internal zipfile structure have an error and doesnīt scan it. Any tip?

You can put them in another folder temporarily /flyers/flyers for scanning and dropped in flyers from packs will probably be built to /flyers/flyers.zip and then manually move those with the others and then move them all back into /flyers for usage.

There's no tutorial for this that I know of, it's just a workaround I figured out. All the others can be scanned in their /folder/folder.zip. Flyers are different because their size makes a zip out of the question. I don't know how to explain it better than I already did. Put flyers unzipped into mame/flyers/flyers, point clrmame to mame/flyers, scan. Dropped in flyer update packs into the clrmame window will probably be rebuilt to /flyers/flyers.zip and you'll get a warning message in clrmame. Manually move the rebuilt flyers from this zip clrmame made (unzip them into mame/flyers/flyers). Then move the contents of mame/flyers/flyers into mame/flyers and delete the empty mame/flyers/flyers dir and you should be good.

Not Working man.
I put Flyers/Flyers on Source and Destination on Flyers Folder.
It canīt make a zip file.

I say on the super-zip flyers: let them free, why compress?
Finally: all files that are missing are actually present in previous updates, most likely the fault is in the handling of renaming made by ClrMAME.
Always check the backup folder.

I'm not talking about making a zip file with all the flyers. That would be pointless. png already compresses for size savings and it's not like the snaps folder to worry about F12 clunking it up. I'm talking about scanning them unzipped and ending with them unzipped. There will be a small zip made by clrmame with just the newly dropped in ones from the new packs, then you unzip those into the folder with the others. I can't explain it any better.

You're right Anto, there are no snaps missing (and no other artwork!) and thanks for all your hard work!
When I update a version of your artwork (for example snaps from 0.142 to 0.143), I run 0.142 snaps through clrmame pro with 0.143 dat file and let it fix any problems and then add the 0.143 snaps update and run through clrmame pro again just to check - although it usually doesn't need to do anything the second time around.
Although at the moment clrmame pro doesn't want to scan my titles.zip :-(

Hello,
My twincobru.png file is 96537bytes long and CRC32 shows 41FBE04E
However, ControlPanels dat 20110703 shows a twincobru.png file 400136bytes long and CRC32 00306274. I have not been able to locate that file in previous Control Panel updates.

Ok Smitdogg let me explain what i need to know.
1š I open crlmamepro
2š I create a Old_MAME is Mame 0.60 Version and i skip everything then appears a menu as normal.
Now is the part i canīt understand.
Settings: What Paths i need to put the Flyers Folder? Roms, Samples etc...
Save as Def.
Rebuilder
Folders i put.
Source
C:\Users\Myname\Desktop\Flyers\Flyers\ i put all flyers in that.
Destination
C:\Users\Myname\Desktop\Flyers\ folder empty.
I click Rebuild and Nothing appears.
If i Scanner only appears "do you whan't to delete Flyers Folder?" And i said No.
They appear scan rom files only

You don't understand clrmame basics. There are tutorials for that or use the clrmame board. Once you understand how to use premade dats and the scanner (not the rebuilder) what I wrote will make sense.

I can add .dat files and fix the roms.
I can rebuilder roms.
I can scan and save the fix dat rom files are missing.
I read all the Crlmamepro tutorials step by step.
But a tutorial for flyers never saw.
I have all MAME updated + CHD's why you said to me i canīt undestand?
Why i canīt search for flyers?
clrmamepro need is Settings with all Snapshots for searching.
Some people long time ago said to me to replace rom folder to put flyer folder as default to search the missing images.
Very Confuse now man.

When you run clrmame on mame.exe it can make a dat with the crc for the roms. When you need to scan pictures you have to use a dat someone else made that has the crcs. You'll see a dat come inside picture packs. You can't make a dat for flyers with mame.exe because it doesn't know the crcs. When you scan picture folders with the premade dats you call them "roms directory" in the Settings menu. It's not intuitive or whatever. You have to use tutorials and figure crap out and then remember it and it becomes easy to the point where you don't even have to think about it.

Now that means clrmamepro donīt do that only for roms right?
Then a new tool for All SnapShots must be done

Thus AntoPisa being the author of the flyers dat. You just put the dat in the dats folder, open it in the profiler, set the path in settings and run the scanner and then drop in the new zips into the missing window, basically.

Smitdogg, you explained the scanning part pretty well. You point ClrMame to the target Directory instead of the directory the uncompressed PNGs are in.
Now, after your scan Don't drag the update pack into the window. Simply jump to the Rebuilder.
Source path will be the update pack directory.
Destination will be mame/flyers
uncheck compress files and recompress files.
Rebuild and you're done.

Thanks, that was quick. Did the trick nicely. Rebuild? Whatever for? Step one: unrar archive (since flyers are in folders). Step two: copy files over to flyers directory, overwriting the three that were wrong anyway. Step three: rescan with cmpro- shows nothing missing, ah. Step four: kick back and relax.
I mean, your files could be trusted, right?

Because it's the way the update packs are designed to be used. There is a purpose for them being released with a dat.
If you scan + fix your collection with the newest dat released, and then rebuild from the update pack, you will always get the best result.
Simply dumping stuff into your collection is not recommended, trusted source or not. Why blindly dump files when ClrMame will put precisely, exactly, what's supposed to be there.

I did do this for the other archives. For the flyers, after reading about the flyer rebuilding problems, just copying them over suddenly became the better way. I've done it before with little in the line of issues.
I should add that clrmamepro is designed for romsets, and indeed is by far the best way to maintain them with ever-changing sets, with archives that contain only the updated rom images, and with many sets at a time. With much simpler things like these it is sometimes simpler just to throw the updated files in the media archive and let cmpro scan and verify it. Just because it also has a rebuild function doesn't mean it must be used alongside the scanner. This may well be why Roman separated the two, giving people the choice how to use his program.
That said, it was not my intention to upset anyone in my use of the software. I do much appreciate you answering my request for missing flyers, and especially as quickly as you did it.

There is no difference in scanning roms or pngs. Generally you have to follow the storing methods:
rompath\setname\file 1...file n for decompressed sets
rompath\setname.zip (.rar/.7z) with file 1 ... file n in the archive for compressed sets
So if the flyers datfile got 1 set named "flyers" with >1000 pngs in it, you need to setup your rompath either to the folder where the flyers.zip is stored (unlikely you're using compressed flyers since it's > 4GB) or you set your rompath to the parent folder of the folder flyers.
