Both work fine here on 144u1 with artwork and bezels enabled and showing.

if you keep both exe's in the same folder, then the one mame.ini will control both. Then there should be no excuse for one working differently from the other.

Therein lies my dilemma. Both executables are in the same folder using the same .cfg and .ini files. One thing I did notice is that there is only one screen rotation switch in the .ini file but you can (and I do) have separate rotations for each screen in the .cfg file. ??? Meanwhile, I notice that I don't have this problem if I roll MAME64.EXE back to 0.143, so I guess I'll have to stick with that for the affected games for now.
