The hacker said that the pictures ranged from her in a bikini to a full nude. Nothing about sexual scenes. I'd say they're fakes.
(Note that I haven't seen any of them yet.)

What I can't figure out is why you would take photos like that at all if you're even remotely famous. Or if you do, and you care about them getting out, put them on a thumb drive and lock it in a sealed vault buried a mile below your house.
Uploading them to iCloud is just insane. iCloud is safe for regular schmucks because it's not worth the effort of breaking into any given account when all you're likely to get are vacation photos and pictures of someone's kids. When you're famous and there's even a chance of finding something juicy, your account has a big fat target painted on it. It's going to get cracked sooner or later.

Downloading anything related to this content is dangerous since malware is probably rampant in these downloads since the bad guys know many people will be searching for these photos. That's why many people prefer to view these photos on websites like imgur. But the photos are being taken down soon after their upload by the website.

That's probably why I didn't see them on that website, they are in a takedown war. Those can't be fun for either side.
I don't think I've ever gotten malware/viruses from piratebay users who have the stamps by their name.

So really the question shouldn't be about iCloud, it should be "Why the hell do these people use photostream?"

It might not be photostream, it might be iCloud device backup. Some of the stuff also appears to have been extracted from DropBox. This suggests the "hackers" may have used the brute force attack on find my iPhone to discover the password, then used that password to authenticate to other services. (Of course, why the hell would you put that stuff on DropBox…)
