Could You explain what do You mean? new [Re: DiodeDude]

Could You explain a little bit more? Something else means frontend or should I stop using MAME? It has problem with mine Windows 8.1 on Geforce 770. Works good with job's PC - Win'7 and Intel graphics.

Eventually I'll move back to v172 and be waiting for other "core"
I appreciate Your answer.

It was a joke.

I imagine it's caused by some of the support files as you definitely don't get that delay on a plain build.

Nope, it's not. I deleted all of files, plenty of times. Left only these:

root folder: Mameui64.exe
roms: 1942

And nothing else. Cfg/ini/gui folders was empty before MAME execute. When I execute game (by double click or ENTER) I see black screen and mouse cursor for 8-10 secs. After that time mouse cursor disappeares then game starts. I disabled every MAMEUI option, incl. LUA plugins. Tested with D3D, OpenGL, BGFX, GDI - still the same. Copied MAMEUI v172 to the folder - no problems, 1942 runs - no mouse cursor, no delays. Executed MAMEUI & FX v173 within the same directory (nothing modified at all) and still the same: mouse cursor and black screen for 10 secs - every game, every run, every time.

Soft reset

I think it's something related to Windows 8.1. Problem does not exists with '7 or '10.

Appreciate all of Your work on MAME for so many years!!!
Wish You good life and health
