I do not know if I got it wrong... there will be no MameUI 0.178?

Or have I misunderstood?

ui-repository is not updated for over 2 week. Compiling that source with your hack to have a 0.177 1/2 MAMEui version?

MAME 0.178 source
this source for MAMEUI
https://github.com/Robbbert/mameui/blob/master/docs/release/mameui177s.rar
Overwrite the files with the ACDACD patch posted below.

It should compile and the result *should* (conditional because I didn't tried by myself) be a working 0.178 MAMEUI.

This Source file is the original 0.177 source file for MAMEui, right? And overwrite the ACDACD patch on it? What is the result? A MAMEui 0177 release.....? All the commits for MAME 0.177 -> 0.178 are missing. For me it makes no sense, sorry...

Only mabye updating MAMEui-source from the repository and compile it with this patch. But remember that online repository is not updated for over 2 weeks ....thats why I call this compile only 0.177 1/2 ;-)

Maybe I've been not clear enough...

Download official MAME 0.178 and extract it
Download from the link above the MAMEUI 0.177 source package which is *not* the full updated repository but *only* the UI part of source files. Extract it over official 0.178 source
Download ACDACD patch and extract it over official 0.178 source.
Compile as usual.

I'm not saying it will work... but at least these are the steps to follow. I'm not sure, but it's probably that in the next months MAMEUI will not be updated so regularly as before.

Right. GitHub repository of MAMEUI is as far as I know only a copy of official MAME repository with the additional files for building the GUI.

ok, now we are talking about the same :-) Compiling with the mame source of 0.178 and the additional UI-Source-files added. Thanks for the info and the new files ACDACD.

I would, but I have not been able to compile 32-bit for a long time. I don't know why. I think you might be the only one using 32-bit MAME any more. Time to upgrade to a modern OS/PC!

MAME 0.178 32-bit Downloads = 6,731

MAME 0.178 64-bit Download = 12,639

So there are many, many other people who still use 32-bit MAME. In fact, one third of MAME users use the 32-bit version. That's an incredible amount of people.

Well, Like I said- If I could, I would. I have not been able to compile 32 bit for a while. I tried again a month or so ago. I even nuked the toolchain and re-installed. Just can not make it work. :-(

I also tried two times to compile the 0.178 version but I get an error after two hours

(error [5]), what a pity...
