Reloading floppy image without restarting mame (CoCo3)
#363783 - 02/23/17 04:16 AM

Hi

I am emulating the CoCo3 in mame for cross-development on my Mac.

What I'd like to do is to be able to copy a new file to the disk image and be able to see that file in mame without having to reload the floppy image using the sequence:

1 - Open menu
2- Go to file manager
3- Select the same image DSK file
4- Select read/write option
5- Back to emulation

So in other words, I'd like to do the above steps in one shot. Is there a shortcut or something I can do to accomplish it?

Thanks

Paulo

I still couldn't find if that is possible, but maybe formulating differently helps to ring a bell in someones mind

Is there a shortcut to reload the same disk image that is already loaded in the system (like a refresh) ?

Thanks

Paulo

Switch to partial keyboard mode, hit Tab to open the menu, select File Manager. You can change floppy images there.

Are you copying that file from within the emulation, say, from another disk image? Or are you manipulating the disk image directly from outside the emulation, on the Mac side of things?

What OS is running on the CoCo3 when you are attempting this?

Are you copying the file to the disk using the emulated CoCo itself? If so, not being able to see the file is a bug.

If you are copying the file onto the image from outside of MAME, than what you are doing is probably the best method.
