Game list for 0188u08
#370223 - 10/09/17 09:15 PM

Hello

I am new to this group and an old school mame head.

A raspberry pi project is on my mind and I have a complete romset for the project, but i need to pair down the romset because I dont have the space for all 47 gigs and Im not into 7000 different majong games from japan.

I need a list of games with the rom name and game name to match so i know what games are what.

Any leads or info would be great.
Thank you in advance

Found this.

Anyone know of a complete list?
This is good but not everything.

Waste of time. A ten year old Core 2 Duo will wipe the floor with a Raspberry Pi.

MooglyGuy is one of the MAME Dev people. Take his word on what he said. Don't use that.

Be better off using a very fast PC to run MAME. iBuyPower or any of those high end PC.

I rather use a Samsung Chromebook Plus than that raspberry. Might not be enable to run those heavy memory games. Least you can play those Neo Geo, Cave and Capcom at better speed. Nintendo games have no problem.

Still get a PC instead. You will be way more happy.

Sir... Thank you for the honest straight forward poop on this.

I had run Mame on a Pc some years ago. Im old enough to have had every gaming system all the way back to The C64. I didn't have them all myself < but i remember the fondly and couldn't have them as a kid, But now I can.

With that said please understand, All who read this. IM OLD. Technology moved very fast in the 5 years i was not in touch with the techno crowd.

I have reconsidered my former use for the Pi project and will run mame on a laptop i3 7th gen and ill pump the ram to its max.

How will this fair? Will it at leat play out run smooth?

Best regards

Scratch the C64 thing as the oldest system I owned when it was new. I had the Bullseye system. A pong clone for home use. Circa 1976-77.

It would not be a Raspberry Pi, that's for sure. I have absolutely no idea about the Cruis'n series or 80s LaserDisc games, but I would hate to imagine the frame rate of Tekken Tag Tournament or Ridge Racer running on such a device.

A VW Touareg can apparently drag a passenger plane, doesn't mean it can do it at a decent speed.
