After a year of using an LG GameGear ultrawide monitor as my primary, I realized I do not have any 21:9 artwork. Have to admit I had gotten used to 16:9 and just never really cared to update any emu artwork to accommodate the extra screen real estate in the last year. So, last week I was like screw it and decided to use Robotron 2084 as a test subject for some ultrawide art.

Bezel came from Official Mame Artwork. Marquee came from Progretto Snaps marquee pack. The side arcade cabs are replicade pictures I modified, such as Dirk the Daring on the DL screen. The T-Molding and Cab Risers on the center virtual cab, I cut out and heavily modified but they started out as some early stuff by John Merrit. I re-drawn, clone-stamped, shaded, re-textured, alpha blended, added shadows and put it all on a 2580x1080 canvas.

Zip file contains all original official artwork and both 16:9 (1920x1080) and 21:9 (2580x1080) versions of the artwork I compiled. The layout file was modified to accommodate those wider screen images. I did not add a comment tag or added who modified the layout file. I don't know what the standard op procedure is for adding custom content to existing official artwork, so I did my best to clarify all aspects of the artwork and layout file.

The idea here was to keep the viewport centered and as big as possible, while retaining a cab look and feel, so the bezel is oversized for the virtual cab, but again, I wanted to keep the viewport larger in size. This was more of a trade off, to have something that looks good enough but keeps the viewport at a size that's enjoyable to me. Anyway, if someone wants to try this 21:9 artwork, be my guest.

I gonna do around a hundred different variances for my collection. I got ample hi-res side cabs and other resources so I might drop some other 21:9 machine artwork with various arcade cabinets/bezels/marquees for other titles as I get more involved with it. If anyone has a request for 21:9 art for a certain machine, let me know and I can probably whip something up...
