Mame Display Issues
03/12/11 09:27 AM

Hi everyone

Well, first off, my problem is that when i try to load a rom, mame says "Proposed video mode not supported on device" and "Unable to initialize Direct3D". Now i've been running mame on this computer for months now, and i haven't had a problem until now. I was testing out a VGA to RCA converter box i bought for my mame cabinet, and thats when i first got the message. I kind of messed around with the windows control panel display settings and switched the MAMEUI screen settings to uses display 2 and i got it to work fine. Then i unplugged my converter box and wanted to play mame on my laptop screen again so i switched everything back, and then mame would either close the ui window when i clicked on a rom name, or give me the same error message. I tried to load a rom on the computer i'm going to be using for my cabinet, and used the same converter box and tv for a monitor, and still got the same message. So with my laptop monitor not working and my tv and other computer not working i decided to go back to the laptop hooked up to the converter and tv again, but then that didn't work. Anybody have any clue as to what i did? If nothing more, i'd like to be able to at least play on my laptop again. Any help is appreciated!
