Finally getting started

So the X-Arcade stick is in the mail and I traded a microwave oven for an old PC to use as MAME machine.

I've spent the day installing drivers for the graphics card and sound device (Mame gave me error codes for both and the problems were easy to fix).

Now however when I try to run the emulator the computer re-boots. No message or anything. I looked at direct X next, I have a version called 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

It runs on a Windows XP Home 32x
It has a seperate Graphics card 7300GS
It has an integrated sound device (Realtek HD Audio, driver downloaded and installed today)
Motherboard is msi k9vgm-v

Anyone have any ideas? I'm stuck.
