You don't understand open source. People release software under specific license terms, and everyone is free to use it in compliance with those terms. The MAME license found here specifically mentions that derivatives must include complete source code (second bullet point in first section). XBMC is licensed under GPL, which also requires redistribution of source with derivatives, and additionally prohibits redistribution under more restrictive and/or non-copyleft licenses. If you don't adhere to the terms of these licenses, you are not free to use the source.

It's really stupid to make threats like that without sizing up your opponent, and I very much doubt you've seen Vas IRL. Putting aside whether he may or may not be a compulsive liar for the moment, he's claimed at various times to:
- Hold his drunk neighbour in front of an open seventh floor window and threaten to throw him out because the neighbour was keeping Vas' kids awake by yelling at his wife
- Shoulder-ram a bus that cut him off when the traffic lights were in his favour hard enough that he was seeing stars for the next fifteen minutes
- Punch a large dent into a Hong Kong taxi because the driver was cherry-picking
- Scull a bottle of vodka, somehow get back to his hotel, collapse in a pool of his own vomit, then wake up and post about it on bannister.org
If nothing else he doesn't seem to give a flying fuck about self-preservation. Sounds like the kind of guy who'd call you a fuckwit to your face and think about the consequences later.

It isn't slander if it's true, and a lot of people here actually are MAME contributors and/or know other MAME contributors personally. Also, we may be children, but we know the difference between "your" and "you're", and that semicolons aren't used for contractions.
