Pretty cool, but from what I saw it was still $1500 to get the board and then an unknown amount to buy the IP from a partner vendor.
I can't help but think that it would be significantly cheaper to rig up some kind of "striped" SD card solution (ie maybe have 4-6 SD cards rated for 45+ MB/s write speed and just take turns writing 512-byte blocks to each one). I said I was done with SD cards, but I did have a proof of concept working, and it doesn't make sense (to me) to spend thousands of dollars making SATA work just because it's a neat idea. I mean, once the data is safely on a PC's hard drive, no one cares how it got there...
Am I missing something here? (ie is there a SATA solution to be had for under $500)
