I need a monitor with a physical "on" button such that it's always on, and so the monitor can come to life when power comes to it.

This is a weird thing. I recently got this otherwise ki-ller 32" Element LED back-lit LCD for my main PC rig ($150 at Wallyworld; viewing angles are fabulous). The suck of it is it has to be turned on. The power led lights red with power, but it's like a pre-power-up kind of thing. Turns blue only when power or remote button is pressed. Nothing in the menu for it, either.

I recall people at byoac would stuff a toothpick in the button gap to jam it 'on'.

Scifi frauds. SF illuminates.
