A super-enzyme that degrades plastic bottles six times faster than before has been created by scientists and could be used for recycling within a year or two.

No Blade of Grass (1970)
The Death of Grass (Book, 1956)

It then reminded me of a couple of educational short films topics on environmental pollution. One that I am glad to have found once again was Rolf Forsberg's Ark (1970) was one of the 1970s era short films about pollution and dire outcomes if not dealt with. I vaguely recall seeing Ark during one of the summer school classroom films being shown back in early 1970s. I didn't remember details nor the short film name until stumbling across it again.

It did hit the message home correctly in some ways since many countries have moved from dirty (non-clean) energy sources causing obvious air pollution. "PROPAGANDA FAKE FILM" according to others. It is coincidental that society is dressed somewhat similar in the film with masks because of current virus pandemic outbreak instead of pollution (with exception to China and India because of smog before the pandemic outbreak struck). I didn't picture that would be the reason when watching film back in early 1970s when as a kid then.

One thing I don't miss are the times of using a payphone and people also needing to use payphone tapping the glass window to get telephone caller to finish phone conversation. For those that are 45 years of age and older, you should remember those moments when that would happen. It was like the 1970s/1980s arcade era when the arcade gamer standing behind you would place a quarter on the control panel of the upright cab which meant: "I GET TO PLAY GAME NEXT".

btw: There was also another short educational film for children that also dealt with air pollution environment that I remember seeing when at elementary summer school session back in early 1970s.

Going by really vague memories, a family was in a house dining room eating contently. The family was talking about events going on. Near end of the film a brick was thrown through the living room glass window. As the family looked out the front window, an angry crowd was standing outside ready to barge into the house and do in the family. It etched my memory pretty good and then some...like Charles Manson and his cult were ready to commit mayhem and murder on the family. I hope to find the short educational film again.
