Former FBI agent Clint Watts described it best when he testified back in 2017, before one of the house committees, that operatives that work in Putin's agencies such the GRU unit have experience in weaponized psyops type methods in tricking people into believing an event will happen even though it never really happens. Clint Watt described Russia's psychological warfare is light years in front of countries such as USA at that hearing. Had folks paid close attention to that hearing they would then realize they maybe they are being played by operatives working for Putin.

The Q Annon thing may have been a Russian operation the entire time. There had been other past examples of misinformation being fed to some of the militias in some areas that antifa members were going to attack some area of city and eventually many of the RW militia side get spooked and jump to some area with guns drawn at some location when the original deliberate misinformation came from a Russian operative working in a GRU computer hackers lab somewhere in Russia.

If going back to the "Steele" dossier (various reports from agents working for Christopher Steele) and was assembled by Glen Simpson's firm, some of the GRU info was included in the dossier, but it was a minor part in the dossier report compared. Most of the research of the dossier was about the political candidate in which former FL. governor Jeb Bush was going to use against him during GOP debates. Jeb never got around to making use of the dossier since he was already starting to trail badly in the GOP primary polls in 2016.

A refresher with an excerpt of the hearing from early 2017 with Watts providing testimony regarding operations being carried out by Putin and staff. If able to find the
entire hearing, Watts mentions that the psyops type methods by Putin's government is
light years in advance of most countries. Many including right wing militias fell prey to
the psyops disinformation campaign. And maybe a few fell for it on the left side, but not as many compared to the right side. This is the stuff that makes an individual think of saving folks by going into a Washington DC food establishment pizza parlor shooting up the place with guns with idea that Hilary and company were holding children hostage as slaves inside the pizza parlor.

Maybe the full length testimony is elsewhere. It is worth watching full length testimony, if able to find it, because Clint Watts explained things in informative details at the hearing.
