CA house rep Ted Lieu’s questioning of FBI director Chris Wray points out the flawed analogies that some of the crazy GOP members spouting off with Dept. of Justice and agencies such as FBI should be disbanded or unfounded. The questioning segment is worth watching because all of the names involved are GOP; no Democratic names. Some were part of the former cabinet, while others were either in legislative branch or Judicial branch.

The vid clips are same at the hearing testimony, but the YouTube clip has a bit more content. And in case either gets pulled, more likely the clip on Twitter because Musk will useTwitter as an option to help GOP by getting rid of anything that exposes current GOP policies in an unfavorable manner.

In local Orange County region CA politics from mid 1990s, the Orange County District Attorney (GOP) Mike Capizzi was doing his job of filing charges against GOP candidate Scott Baugh maybe involved in illegal campaign financial issues iirc. That enraged GOP operatives. Eventually Capizzi was ousted and replaced by fellow GOP T. Rakaucas as replacement District Attorney while Scott Baugh was able to continue serving in government capacities along the way for past 20 years.

What it comes down to is if a criminal is a GOP member and is useful in some way, they are protected as best possible ie NY George Santos scenario at this time.
